Environment Canada, Policy and Communications, Communications Directorate ENG The Green Lane is the World Wide Web site of the Canadian federal government department of the environment. It provides 24-hour, one window access to the products, services, data, programs and policies of Environment Canada and its partners. The Green Lane was launched in 1994 and consists of a network of 7 sites across Canada. It includes information of both regional and national scope. The Green Lane provides information on key environmental issues and topics such as endangered species, atmospheric change, biodiversity, toxics and weather, as well as related information on environmental science, technology, socio-economics. It also includes information on Environment Canada including its mandate, responsibilities, organization and programs.
